WWE files trademark for change of name of Piper Niven to ‘Doudrop’

Piper Niven will be billed as ‘Doudrop’, after WWE filed the trademark for the change in name. The Scottish Superstar made her debut on this week’s episode of WWE Raw with Eva Marie.

Piper Niven Doudrop
Niven dominated Naomi throughout the match and finished her off in quick fashion

Niven was not named during commentary during her segment, but that looks set to change after the company filed with the USPTO ( United States Patent and Trademark Office ). The office produced a statement saying (h/t Fightful):

DOUDROP (Standard Characters, see mark)
The literal element of the mark consists of DOUDROP. The mark consists of standard characters, without claim to any particular font style, size, or color.
The applicant, World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc., a corporation of Delaware, having an address of 1241 East Main Street,Stamford, Connecticut 06902,United States.

Niven beat Naomi on her debut on WWE Raw after Eva Marie was scheduled to fight ‘The Glow.’ Marie returns after a 4-year absence after parting ways in 2017. The partnership has a lot of potential to succeed on WWE.

How will the pair work together?

Eva Marie is an experienced wrestler in the women’s division. Despite her getting the deserved push on NXT, she hasn’t fulfilled her potential as yet. The new gimmick of the ‘EVA-lution’ could turn out to be a success after teaming up with Niven.

Marie also returns with a major point to prove. She has not won any major title in WWE and that could change with Piper Niven ( now Doudrop ).

Niven, meanwhile, is relatively new to the company. She began with the Mae Young Classic in 2017 and then was a constant feature on NXT UK. The Scottish has also faced battles with current WWE RAW Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley in the past.

Niven has proven a lot of harsh fans wrong in her short WWE career, after constant mockery about her appearance. She is sure to silence all the haters after her first run on the main roster.
