Liv Morgan ‘saddened’ after Ruby Riott release

Ruby Riott was part of the mass exodus of superstars, including Braun Strowman, Aleister Black and Buddy Murphy.

Riott’s former teammate Liv Morgan took to social media to pay tribute to her WWE career and her friendship:

“You are a gift and now I have to share you. I can’t wait to watch you rule the world,” she ended.

Ruby Riott’s release marks the end of their fruitful partnership on WWE TV. The duo were hopeful of receiving a major push towards the Tag Team titles, but the idea is longer a possibility.

Riott made her WWE debut on developmental brand, NXT in 2016. She competed on the independent circuit for six years, prior to that. Her debut act was attacking Nikki Cross and Sanity in March 2016.

In 2017, Her impressive performance moved her up to WWE Raw to form the ‘Riott Squad’ with Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan. They had an explosive debut and caused havoc in the women’s division. The Riott Squad was one of the most feared faction in women’s history.

The group had impressive performances for over two years, until Morgan switched brands as part of the Superstar Shakeup in 2019. Morgan and Riott joined forces once again, the following year.

Liv Morgan : Last Woman Standing ?

Liv Morgan is the sole member after both Riott and Logan’s release in consecutive years by WWE. The COVID-19 pandemic being one of the reasons for the major overhaul.

Morgan is one of the most talented wrestlers in the division and could get a major push as a singles star. She also has a commanding presence on and off the screen, as seen on social media.

Morgan is scheduled to be part of the Women’s Money in the Bank Match and will be looking to cash in this opportunity.
