Kofi Kingston joins the Greatest Wrestler in the World debate and wants Randy Orton to be in the conversation
The Greatest Wrestler in the World debate is one that would probably never cease to exist. It has gone on since the advent of pro wrestling and will probably go on forever.
In a recent interview, former WWE and current AEW commentator Jim Ross picked Randy Orton as the pro wrestling GOAT.
And talking about ‘The Viper’ and his status as the greatest in the world, former WWE champion Kofi Kingston said this in his interview with Daily Star (h/t WrestlingInc):
“As far as Randy is concerned, I think he has the ability to do so many things so well. A lot of people think that because he doesn’t do a lot of moves, he’s not good, but that’s simply not true. The industry is not about the moves; it is about being able to connect with the crowd and express what you’re thinking without saying things a lot – to make people watch you. If you watch Randy move around the ring, he moves so slowly and every step has a purpose – you can’t take your eyes off him, yet he doesn’t ‘do’ anything, right? To be able to do that is an absolute talent.”
Randy Orton is a WWE great already The 14-time WWE champion is a staple at WrestleMania, the biggest event in pro wrestling, and will only add to his accolades in the future.

Kofi then added why ‘The Legend Killer’ deserves to be in the GOAT debate and said that his skill and longevity are two things that set him apart from the rest.
“He looks a certain way, he flexes in a certain way… you feel that. That’s the stuff that makes you great and not just good. What Randy does is unique in that way – he does so much without doing anything at all, so I’d have to put him in the conversation as being one of the greatest. To be able to last so long… he’s even more compelling now in a lot of different ways. So as a performer, you can’t have the conversation without having Randy be in there, from the longevity alone. That doesn’t happen by accident.”
Orton became the youngest WWE heavyweight champion at the age of 24 in 2004 at SummerSlam. And at 41, he still looks like he can go on for another decade at least.
He is currently engaged in a storyline with Matt Riddle. The RKBro tag team has taken the RAW tag team division by storm and are aiming to dismantle AJ Styles and Omos from the top.
As for Kingston, he finds himself in a No. 1 contender match against Drew McIntyre on RAW next week. The winner will get to challenge champion Bobby Lashley for the title.
