AEW stars Young Bucks make fun of WWE star Big E after greatest tag team debate
The Young Bucks took to Twitter to take a hilarious jibe at WWE Superstar Big E, who had earlier reacted to being named the greatest tag team in WWE history.
Bucks edited an earlier tweet of Big E on June 30, to call themselves the “greatest tag team” of all time’, saying:
“We know many will disagree with the list but being named the greatest tag team of all time makes us reflect on our journey. We’re massively grateful for us. We’re thankful we bet on ourselves & were unafraid to pursue a path that felt right for us.”
WWE named The New Day as the greatest tag team of all-time after releasing the 50 Greatest Tag Teams series on Peacock and the WWE Network. Big E thanked the WWE Universe with a tweet.
The tweet has since then been deleted by the Young Bucks. The duo are flying high in AEW with the AEW World Tag Team Championships to their name. They have also risen splendidly in their career as a tag team and become well-renowned all over the world.
Bucks are also the executive-vice presidents of the company and have done a great job since the inception of AEW in 2019.
Why was The New Day named the ‘greatest tag team ever’ in WWE?
The story of three singles black wrestlers – Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston and Big E was welcomed with open arms by the WWE Universe. Their humorous and fun-filled gimmick resonated with the crowd. It gave them an opportunity to showcase their talents on the big stage.
The trio have won numerous accolades in their career and have gone on to beat some big names in the all-time list. The New Day holds several records – including a tag team championship reign for 483 days. They also hold most reigns as SmackDown Tag Team Champions at seven. They are overall 11-time tag team champions in WWE.
