Sunny Dhinsa and Gzim Selmani are better known as Akam and Rezar respectively thanks to their time in WWE as a dominant tag team known as The Authors of Pain.

The tag team even aligned with Seth Rollins to deliver a good storyline with Buddy Murphy

Former WWE Superstars Akam and Rezar are reportedly planning a return to the squared circle next month. According to Fightful Select, The Authors of Pain have reached out to several other wrestlers about an event they plan on running in early June from Dubai.

They will not only be promoting the event but also wrestle in some capacity. If the two powerful wrestlers do get back in the ring, this will be their first match since the 8-man tag team match they had on the March 9, 2020, episode of RAW. In that match, they teamed up with Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy to beat the team of The Street Profits and The Viking Raiders.

Rumors involving The Authors of Pain and their accomplishments in WWE

Akam signed for WWE in October 2014 while Rezar was signed by the company in May 2015. The duo formed a tag team in February 2016.

AOP on an episode of RAW

There were rumors flying around last year about AOP being done from pro wrestling. The Dutch star Rezar told a reporter that he was no longer a wrestler. A promoter was even told that they had retired when he tried to book them. Later there was a clarification from AOP that they were not retired as yet. WWE Hall of Famer and AOP’s former manager Paul Ellering had also stated the same. However, the duo did not return to a wrestling ring even though many promoters tried to book them in the past few months.

A source said, “I’m not sure how often they’ll be wrestling, but they’re planning to do this one.”

Akam and Rezar won the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic in 2016 and went on to become the NXT Tag Team Champions on one occasion. After moving over to the main roster on the RAW brand they became the Raw Tag Team Champions after beating Seth Rollins in a handicap match.
