Edge picked up an injury on SmackDown against Seth Rollins recently
Seth Rollins exacted revenge on Edge at the recently concluded SamckDown.
The pair had previously met at WWE SummerSlam 2021. Edge earned a submission win over Rollins, in a quite long and tense match, that was dominated by the Edge.
The Edge had also brought out his Brood Entrance at the SummerSlam throwing back to the 90s.
Back to the match on SmackDown, Edge was quite emotional, since it was set to be his last appearance at the Madison Square Garden.
Despite starting off the contest strongly with a Pedigree, Edge went on to lose the match after Rollins hit him with multiple kicks, before going on to finish things with the Stomp.
A while after the fight, Edge was seen being taken off on a stretcher. Concerns of Edge being injured due to the Stomp began to grow.
It is worth noting that Edge suffered a severe neck injury in 2010 that caused him to retire. It was only in 2020 that Edge decided to make a return – at the 2020 Royal Rumble.
Update on the injury Edge suffered on SmackDown
WWE Hall of Famer and Edge’s partner Beth Phoenix provided an update on the ‘Rated R Superstar’s worrisome injury.
Phoenix’s message that Edge was at home resting was echoed by WWE’s official Twitter handle.
“Per @TheBethPhoenix tonight on #WWENXT – @EdgeRatedR is home resting. Get well soon, @EdgeRatedR.”
It is not clear when Edge would be returning -expected to be out for a few months. But one thing is for sure, he is in the business end of his illustrious career.
