“Don’t think that does anything for anyone” – Dave LaGreca highlights major problems with Jinder Mahal’s win on Raw

Jinder Mahal secured a big comeback win on WWE RAW with Veer and Shanky by his side

This week’s edition of Monday Night RAW saw Jinder Mahal make his comeback on WWE RAW after nearly a year out of the Red brand.

A few days back, he fought Jeff Hardy in a match at WWE Main Event with new faction members Shanky (earlier called Dilsher Shanky) and Veer (Saurav Gurjar) next to him.

As it turns out, it was a test to see if how the match would look on RAW. And in the rematch, Mahal hit Hardy with the Khallas to secure a big comeback win.

However, it did not please one WWE fan in particular. Dave LaGreca, speaking on the latest edition of the Busted Open podcast, mentioned some big problems with the matchup.

“Jeff Hardy loses to Jinder in three minutes on that show. And I was like, ‘man, Jeff Hardy deserves better’ and there were fans that were coming at me like ‘hey, isn’t that what the veteran talent is for, to put over younger talent?’ Well, pump the brakes a second, Jinder is not exactly new talent. He’s somebody that’s been with the company, somebody that’s a former WWE champion. You’re not throwing on young talent from NXT, that’s number one.”

Jinder Mahal vs Jeff Hardy slammed by LaGreca for lack of storyline

And adding to his previous comments, LaGreca mentioned that the match was devoid of a storyline and hence, a weak segment from WWE creative.

“You need a story there! There’s gotta be a story that leads to a major match which means something… you’re gonna forget about it in a month so what’s the big deal? What you should do is have a story between Jeff Hardy and Jinder Mahal that builds up, that makes you want to watch the show every Monday night, get emotionally invested in both the wrestlers, and then it leads to a pay-per-view match where Jinder goes over Jeff Hardy.”

LaGreca sounded pretty worked up over this in all honesty but he’s not wrong at all. The lack of a storyline was almost laughable because nothing about the match was making sense.

Even Jinder’s new faction with Veer and Shanky had no storyline to start it off with and it seems like they just picked the two random Indian wrestlers to be ringside with Mahal.

If WWE wants to push Mahal again, then there has to be a lot of work done with his character and storyline, especially regarding his next opponent.
