Austin Theory didn’t get a great return gift after returning on NXT with Bronson Reed slapping him

Bronson Reed was in no mood for jokes after missing out on the North American title at NXT TakeOver: XXX.

The big Aussie was in the ladder match for the title and had several chances to get the gold. However, it was Damian Priest who got the win and started a new era on WWE NXT.

Reed was cutting a promo on NXT where he wanted to face Priest. However, the returning Austin Theory interrupted the Australian.

Theory, who had been part of Zelina Vega’s crew, had joined Seth Rollins after being dumped out. However, he had been missing in action for a while and his return on NXT wasn’t all that great.

Reed didn’t take kindly to the interruption from Theory and slapped the star across his face:

Theory was seen laughing after the slap, and Reed has explained his actions.

A mean Reed

Reed seems to be a changed man on NXT ever since he got a shot at the North American title. He has looked meaner than ever before and responded to why he slapped Theory.

Reed seems ready to take the NXT roster head on and it was a little frustrating for him to lose the title.

However, the Australian might have another rival to take on, Theory. Theory was one of the hottest stars coming out of NXT and it was a bit of a surprise how he was fast-tracked to Raw.

That was partly due to the coronavirus pandemic which saw WWE shift its shows to a closed location.

Now that things are normalised a little, Theory is back on NXT and it will be interesting to see what is next for him too.
