Brock Lesnar is not going to return to WWE anytime in the near future, according to reports. ‘The Beast Incarnate’ made his last appearance in a loss to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36,

Earlier, there were rumours of Lesnar returning at this year’s Summerslam in August, but the plan seems to be delayed indefinitely. A deal is far from completion to bring Lesnar back, with reports saying : ( h/t Dave Meltzer )

“While there are a lot of rumors regarding the return of Lesnar, as of 6/15 there was no deal for him to return imminently. Of course it always could happen especially with the Saudi show late in the year and next year’s Mania. SummerSlam would also make sense but right now that’s still not anything agreed to nor expected at this point.”

With big names like Edge and John Cena returning at the ‘biggest event of the summer’, maybe WWE decided to postpone Lesnar’s arrival for a later date. WWE also are planning to host an event in Saudi Arabia, this year after missing out in 2020 due to COVID-19.

Lesnar was touted to return in August to face WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, who is arguably at the top of his game right now.

Who will Roman Reigns face at Summerslam?

After the news that Lesnar is not planning to return at Summerslam, it is highly likely that Reigns will face 16-time Champion John Cena. Reigns is the WWE Universal Champion since August of last year, and has created a new ‘Tribal Chief’ gimmick.

Reigns beat Mysterio in a first Hell in a Cell match on WWE SmackDown, which was planned to be at WWE Hell in a Cell. This means that Reigns is not going to feature at the PPV this Sunday.

Reigns’ impressive title defences have come against Kevin Owens, Braun Strowman, Cesaro amongst others. He also defended the title at WrestleMania 37, by beating Daniel Bryan and Edge.

John Cena is returning after a lengthy absence since WrestleMania 36. The F9 star has had a rivalry with Reigns in the past losing at No Mercy 2017. With Reigns as the biggest heel in WWE, it will be exciting to see Cena’s highly awaited return in the ring.
