Ronda Rousey tipped to make her WWE return sooner rather than later
Just yesterday, WWE President and Chief Revenue Officer Nick Khan spoke on the Colin Cowherd podcast (h/t wrestletalk.com) about a few possible WWE returns.
This included the blockbuster names of ‘Rowdy’ Ronda Rousey and ‘The Man’ Becky Lynch. The former UFC star is still contracted to WWE but has been inactive lately.
As for Lynch, she took a well-deserved hiatus from the show after being pregnant, and should be gearing up for a return anytime soon.
Coming back to Rowdy, she was signed by the promotion based on her MMA reputation of being a cold-blooded killer and came to WWE as a top dog.
It didn’t take WWE long to make her the WWE RAW women’s champion and give her a 231-day-long title reign.
Booker T isn’t all too excited about Ronda Rousey making a WWE return
Rousey is recently on a break from the show as of now in a bid to star a family with former UFC star, Travis Browne.
She even commented on the hardships of travelling as a WWE superstar. But a possible return of the biggest name in women’s MMA still doesn’t get Booker T excited enough, as he gave his views on his Hall of Fame podcast (h/t ewrestling.com).
“As far as Ronda goes, nothing moves me; as far as when you say Ronda Rousey is coming back to the WWE. Maybe for a lot of people, but for me Ronda Rousey still has… I can’t give her a blank cheque. I can’t, say, give her the perfect grade.
And he added why that was the case. Booker is just bored of Ronda’s one-dimensional character on the show and wants something different.
“And until Ronda Rousey shows me a little bit more, that’s how I’m going to be as far as that goes. If she can come back to the WWE and show me something other than going out and playing ‘wrestler’, we might get somewhere”
Whether it excites him or not, Rousey’s return would add a much-needed injection of excitement and star-power in the women’s WWE division. The date is not set yet but it shouldn’t be too far away.
