Booker T explains why Karrion Kross is the one WWE star that feels “real” in company

Karrion Kross is making a name for himself in WWE recently

Kevin Kesar, AKA Karrion Kross, has made a big name for himself within a year of making his WWE NXT debut.

He signed with the promotion back in February 2020 after a one-off appearance on RAW in 2015. And since then, he has won an NXT championship, which he took from Keith Lee at NXT TakeOver: XXX.

But there is something about him that sets him apart from the others. And Booker T was discussing this on the Reality of Wrestling’s HOF 223 podcast earlier this week.

He was asked who he thought had “layer of realism around them” as soon as they “Walked out of the curtain”. Booker’s answer was simple.

“Karion Kross. Because when he walks out the curtain, he looks like a man walked out the curtain and’s going to break something. Whether he can or not, when the bell rings, that could be another story. But when he walks out the curtain, he looks like, okay, this is something that I could buy into right here.”

Karrion Kross is all set to fight for the NXT championship at WWE NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver

The 35-year-old has a date set with current NXT champion, Finn Balor, as the former gears to defend his title at NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver. Kross is yet to win a title since his win over Lee.

And this seems like the perfect opportunity for that. Balor has swept through the entire roster on the Black and Gold brand.

He really does not need a win over Kross to prove anything. The Irishman is by far the biggest star on NXT.

This could well be Kross’ time to shine, and what better way to launch him than with a win at TakeOver. And this could then propel him to fight Randy Orton, however unlikely that seems right now.

As for Balor, it is not ridiculous to expect a move to the main roster soon, preferably SmackDown.

It remains to be seen how WWE wants to play out this angle between the two. TakeOver: Stand and Deliver airs on April 7th and 8th.
