WWE Hall of Famer Booker T praises Rey Mysterio and calls him one of the greatest ever
WWE Legend Booker T took to Twitter and praised 619 superstar Rey Mysterio as “one of the greatest ever”. They are two of the greats of the attitude era and have been involved in several iconic matches.
Booker T wrote, posting a picture of an air-borne Mysterio during their match:
“One of the greatest ever!!!! @reymysterio“
After Booker won the battle royal, Mysterio began a feud with King Booker to become the number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship. However, at The Great American Bash, Mysterio lost the World Heavyweight Championship to King Booker thanks to interference from Chavo Guererro.
Booker T has praised the Mysterios in the past
Booker T spoke about the greatness that awaits the Mysterios in an episode of the Hall of Fame podcast back in May 2021. He explained how amazing a feeling it would be for both son and dad if they pull off the win at WrestleMania Backlash.
“To be able to cap it off, can you imagine being tag team champions with your son. That’s gotta be an amazing feeling for the son and the dad. That’s gotta be an overwhelming feeling, being able to do something like that, knowing that that’s gonna be written into history books.”
Booker T has said on record that Mysterio can create history after his return.
“If you’re gonna do it, you might as well do it now…Rey Mysterio is at that stage in his career, where we don’t know how many years left, he’s gonna be still doing this. You know, overnight you’re body can tell it is time to shut it down…he’s tread is like this right now [denoting tiny].”
The father-son duo went on to win the title in style.
