Former WWE Champion reunited with his stable New Day in the blue brand and took on Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss. Before the match, Corbin and Moss took digs at Drew McIntyre and said that they forced the Scottish Warrior into early retirement.

The New Day members also expressed that winning a Royal Rumble will be unique and cause celebration during a backstage segment before the match.

The New Day dominated the fight from the beginning against Corbin and Moss. First, however, Corbin and Moss isolated Kingston and pounded on him until the Big Man tagged in and exploded into the match.

Kingston countered some late offensive manoeuvres from the heels and finished Cordbin with Midnight Hour to victory via pinfall. It was reported that Big E and WWE Champion Brock Lesnar are currently tied as the odds on to win the Royal Rumble 2022.
