Roman Reigns turning heel seems to have rubbed off on Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch returning at WWE SummerSlam was one of the biggest talking points of the year in the world of wrestling.

The Man had been out of action since Money in the Bank last year when she confirmed she was expecting her first child with husband Seth Rollins.

Lynch was the Raw Women’s Champion and relinquished her title to Asuka, who had won the MITB briefcase.

The Man returned to replace Sasha Banks at SummerSlam and squashed Bianca Belair for the SmackDown women’s title.

Lynch also came out as heel on the following SmackDown, and it seems she was inspired by another top star.

According to WON (h/t Ringside news), Roman Reigns turning heel could have been one reason for her to do the same.

“Lynch had asked to return as a heel. Some have said in the company she was inspired by Reigns, and the reality is to many, being a heel is more fun. Of course, the last time she tried to go heel, she became the most popular wrestler in the company and the hottest woman wrestling star the company had ever had.”

Reigns turned heel and has dominated WWE and Lynch was dominating the women’s division prior to her absence.

Becky Lynch faces Bianca Belair again

The squash match was a bit of a shocker to many, especially Belair. However, the EST of WWE will have another crack at Lynch.

Belair won a Fatal 4-way match to become the next challenger for Lynch. The EST of WWE was doing her bit of dominating the women’s division too after she won the last Royal Rumble.

She won the title from Banks at WrestleMania 37 and The Boss had been missing from TV ever since.

Banks returned a few weeks before SummerSlam and there still is no official reason why she wasn’t at the show.
