WWE superstar Andrade has apologized to Apollo Crews after he injured the latter’s knee on Monday’s episode of Raw.

Crews had already qualified for the 2020 Money in the Bank next month. On Monday, he was involved in a six-man tag team clash alongside Aleister Black and Rey Mysterio against the heel trio of Andrade, Angel Garza and Austin Theory.

Having picked up the win in the tag battle, Crews went on to challenge Andrade for the United States Championship later on in the evening. El Idolo’s manager Zelina Vega accepted the challenge and a fine bout followed.

Andrade had been targeting Crews’ knee throughout the match but Crews fought back hard. Just when it looked like he would be able to pull it off, his knee gave in, forcing the referee to call the match.

WWE issued a statement soon after confirming that Crews had injured his knee and will not be involved in the 2020 Money in the Bank next month. It remains to be seen if the injury is a legitimate one or part of a storyline brewing between the two wrestlers.
