AJ Styles had wrestled in WWE prior to 2016 but his debut at the 2016 Royal Rumble was huge

The former TNA star had wrestled in WWE before but rejoined when he was at the top of his game.

Styles also became a WWE champion later on and formed a stable with Luke Gallows and Karl Andersen, from their days in Japan, but making his debut at the Rumble was a scary moment for him.

The 42-year-old was on WWE Backstage and highlighted just what was going on in his mind before his WWE debut:

“Been all over the world, I was terrified.

Styles also said that it was a big deal to return to WWE but coming after so many years was always going to be difficult for him:

“I was intimidated. I was a 38-year-old man coming to the WWE for the first time, it’s intimidating.”

Young then asked why Styles felt that was the right time to come WWE, but the former champion joked and said that they offered him the right deal at the point.

Next big star in WWE

Styles might be coming to the end of his WWE career in a few years, but he named some stars that have bright futures.

The former champion claimed that Ricochet, Cedric Alexander and Shayna Baszler are three stars that have bright futures.

Alexander and Ricochet have been in the doldrums lately. However, Becky Lynch is to face Baszler at WrestleMania.

Styles also explained why he wanted to face The Undertaker. The Deadman is one of the greatest in the business and Styles claimed he wanted to learn more from him.
