AJ Styles will try to reclaim the Intercontinental title against Jeff Hardy on SmackDown this week

The WWE Intercontinental title will be on the line this week as AJ Styles faces Jeff Hardy.

Styles won the recently held IC tournament but Hardy was able to get the title from the Phenomenal One.

Hardy has been attacked by Sami Zayn too, and the Canadian took exception to this clash. Zayn, as most would know, was stripped of the title due to him being absent from WWE.

Zayn didn’t feature much as the coronavirus pandemic spread. However, he still declares himself as the champion, since he never lost the title in a match.

Zayn has hit out at WWE for not giving him a chance at getting the crown back and attacked Hardy last week.

However, he lost his cool after learning about the title match on Friday. Zayn claimed this was a “bogus” match and for a fraudulent title.

Styles counters

The Phenomenal One didn’t take this lying down and hit back at Zayn. The former champion attacked Zayn for not being on WWE for a while and also added that he had better hair than the Canadian.

Styles was confident of reclaiming the IC title while he suggested Zayn to stick to using Twitter:

Styles vs Hardy should be a great clash but Zayn might have something to do in all this. The Canadian is right in saying that he never lost the title or got injured while he was stripped.

Zayn should get a crack at the IC holder and this could lead to a triple threat match in the future too. It is great to see Zayn back on TV as he was doing great after winning the title.
