Why WWE WrestleMania 36 at the Performance Center could produce an enjoyable PPV

WWE confirmed that WrestleMania 36 would take place without a crowd at the Performance Center

WWE posted some news that most fans had been dreading regarding WrestleMania 36 just before this week’s Raw.

The promotion confirmed that the greatest wrestling event of the year was being shifted to the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

This comes after the break of the coronavirus and WWE already hosted one SmackDown at the Center.

This week’s Raw also went on without any fans, and that does affect the product as a whole. The fans cheering on their favourite stars and enjoying some great moments is what makes WrestleMania such a big show.

Also, WWE has made WrestleMania a weekend show with the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony too. That could also take place at the Performance Center due to the virus outbreak.

The atmosphere of WrestleMania 36 will not be anything close to what we have seen over the years.

There is a special interaction with the performers and the WWE universe in the arena, but even a closed doors WrestleMania could turn out to be a great show.

Concentrate on the wrestling and nothing else

WrestleMania had become a bit of a show in recent years. Some fans were more interested in the entrances of the wrestlers, and the likes of John Cena and Triple H certainly had extravagant shows.

That seemed to take a bit out of the storylines and the wrestling. Sure, you have to show this is a big event, but often, the performances in the ring didn’t match the hype.

Sticking to the confines of the WWE training center does have a few issues. Grand entrances certainly won’t be part of this year’s WrestleMania.

It will also take out a lot of the energy produced by the thousands of screaming fans. However, WWE can still put on a great show.

As we have seen with NXT matches, a small arena isn’t a deterrent to quality shows. NXT does have a very local, vocal and loyal crowd, and that will be a miss at WrestleMania.

However, the wrestling is top-notch and some of the best fights in a year come from the weekly NXT shows.

WrestleMania 36 now has the chance to emulate this. WWE has already put up some blockbuster matches for the top titles, and they have enough time to put on a fantastic show.

Becky Lynch vs Shayna Baszler, Drew McIntyre vs Brock Lesnar and even AJ Styles vs The Undertaker has the potential to be incredible matches.

A chance to bring in new faces

This is also a great chance for WWE to show to gain more fans in the coming weeks. WWE is still the only major weekly event still on, and the wrestlers seem to be in lockdown for now.

With a lack of other sports available, more people could log into the network or buy the PPV just to get their fix.

A brilliant WrestleMania with great matches could work a treat in getting more people hooked to the show.

The missing fans will take the life out of WrestleMania but the wrestlers can keep it alive and kicking with a performance for the ages.
