Why Tottenham should return for Max Aarons in the near future
According to ESPN, Max Aarons was a target for Tottenham last summer. The youngster spoke about when he was let go from Spurs when he was 14 before spending most of his amateur career at the club. He felt low after being told that he wasn’t the right fit at the trials for the club and moved on to Norwich eventually.

The 20-year-old English full-back started his youth career at Luton Town in 2009 before moving to Norwich’s youth setup in 2014.
After that, he climbed through the U-18s and U-23s before being promoted to the senior side in 2018. He was an integral part of Norwich’s promotion campaign that season and was a constant for them last season in the Premier League too.
In total, he has played for the Canaries 96 times, including 13 games this season. He has 3 goals and 10 assists to show for those appearances (source – Transfermarkt). Aarons has been a part of the England U-19 and U-23 sides but is yet to feature for the senior side.
Tottenham should return for Aarons in the future
Aarons was a target for Spurs in the summer but they eventually signed Matt Doherty from Wolves. Nonetheless, Aaron represents an option they can look to sign in the future, maybe even next summer.
The youngster had one of the best breakthrough seasons for Norwich in the Premier League last term. Although the Canaries ended up getting relegated, Aarons did himself no harm with his performances. It was even reported that Barcelona were after him before they signed Sergino Dest.
Currently Spurs have Doherty and Serge Aurier as their right-back options. While Doherty is a quality man to have in the ranks, the same cannot be said of Aurier. The Ivorian is a bit reckless when it comes to his defensive duties and leaves a lot to be desired while attacking.

The Norwich man would be the ideal option for Spurs to have as a possible second choice and eventually take over from Doherty when the time comes. The club should revisit their interest in Aarons next summer. He would represent a smart bit of business from the club and could secure that position for the future.
