Why Liverpool should sign Samuel Chukwueze in the future
According to The Sun, Liverpool are very keen on the signing of Samuel Chukwueze. The youngster has attracted the attention of top European clubs with his performances for Villarreal. Clubs such as Manchester United, Leicester, Everton, Chelsea and Wolves have all been credited with an interest in the player. There has also been talk of Real Madrid being linked with the player.
Profile
Samuel Chukwueze is a 21-year-old Nigerian forward who plays for La Liga side Villarreal CF. He started playing football for local side Diamond Hope in 2012 and moved to Villarreal’s youth setup after 5 years.
On arrival, he was drafted to the U-19s and continued there for a season. Post that, he was promoted to the Villarreal B side in 2018. That season, he managed to play 20 games, scoring 4 goals and assisting 2.
Within a few months of playing for the B side, he was called up and promoted to the senior side. Since then, Chukwueze has become a vital part of the ‘Yellow Submarine’. He has made 90 appearances for them, scoring 13 goals and assisting 12 (source – Transfermarkt).
Despite his young age, he is a full international for Nigeria now. So far, he has made 14 appearances for them, scoring twice.
Chukwueze would be a good addition to Liverpool’s attack
It would be fair to say that Liverpool have one of the best attacking trios in Europe, featuring Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah. In the last 3 years, this triumvirate has wreaked havoc in England and Europe as well. Now they have managed to add to that with the signing of Diogo Jota.
The former Wolves man has started the season like a house on fire and is rapidly making a case to be a starter. The addition of Chukwueze would make Liverpool’s attack much scarier. Capable of playing anywhere across the frontline, he will add a whole different dimension to Liverpool’s already lethal attack.
Samuel Chukwueze offers them a good blend of youth and experience. Just 21, Chukwueze has already made 90 appearances for Villarreal. He usually plays as a right-winger but can play on the other flank or as an attacking midfielder if required.
