Why Liverpool should sign Milot Rashica to improve their attacking options

As per German publication Bild (h/t The Mirror), Liverpool are keeping tabs on Werder Bremen forward Milot Rashica ahead of the summer transfer window.

Rashica, 23, came through the ranks of KF Vushtrri’s youth ranks in his hometown and joined the Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem in 2015. In 100 appearances for the Eredivisie outfit, he chalked up 15 goals and 24 assists and earned a move to the Bundesliga with Werder Bremen.

The Kosovan has established himself as on the best young forwards in Germany despite Bremen’s struggle in the top-flight. He has taken his game to the next level and could soon be on his way to the Premier League with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool monitoring him, as per the report.

Meanwhile, the Reds are on course to lift their first league title in over 30 years after dominating in England’s top-flight for the best part of the last two seasons. They have performed very well on the back of a Champions League-winning campaign and are 25 points ahead of Manchester City in the title race.

Klopp has masterminded his team’s resurrection in the past few years and has improved the quality in all the areas. The defensive unit, led by Virgil van Dijk has been commanding throughout the campaign, conceding just 21 goals. At the same time, Georginio Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson have formed a strong partnership in the midfield.

Klopp’s trump card is the forwards in the squad – Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah. The trio has done a lot of damage for the Reds whenever they have been successful and has led the team brilliantly over the years. However, there are some issues that the manager needs to pay attention to and that is the lack of depth on the wings.

Divock Origi and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have failed to make the desired impact while filling in for Mane on the left. And winter signing Takumi Minamino has struggled to hit the ground. Thus, adding a winger would be a wise decision by the club.

In that regard, Werder Bremen’s Milot Rashica would be a viable option for the Reds as he has been in fine form for the German outfit in the past two seasons.

The 23-year-old has already netted 7 league goals this term on top of the nine he scored last term, whilst playing for a struggling Bremen team who are second from the bottom in the Bundesliga standings. He has been impressive and has the quality to succeed at a higher level.

The Kosovo international would undoubtedly bolster Liverpool’s squad and could be seen as a perfect backup for Mane. He is also capable of operating from anywhere across the frontline and would be a huge boost to Klopp’s squad.
