Forget it Arteta – Arsenal signing this 8-goal Barcelona star is an unnecessary move right now

Why Arsenal signing Antoine Griezmann would be a wasteful move

Barcelona star Antoine Griezmann could join Arsenal or Inter Milan in the summer, according to the Express.

Griezmann has scored 8 goals this season but that hasn’t impressed La Liga giants Barcelona, who brought in the player hoping that the player would complete the team. A year later, things stand differently.

The French international joined Atletico Madrid in 2014 and grew into one of the best forwards in Europe, being involved in 183 goals in those five years with the club. He then decided to move to Rivals Barcelona.

Griezmann is a world-class striker and would undoubtedly be a great addition to any side in the world. The Frenchman has shown an impressive understanding of the game and which is why he has been highly regarded.

Would it be right for Arsenal to sign the player?

With both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette Arsenal have two quality strikers. With Eddie Nketiah now a regular and Gabriel Martinelli impressing this season, the club has a number of strikers already in their list.

For Arsenal, signing another top-class centre-forward shouldn’t even be on the mind with these players in hand. Mikel Arteta will definitely have other concerns regarding his squad and it seems very unlikely that Arsenal will want to be in a race for the striker unless they are letting either of their two star strikers.

No doubt that Griezmann has great abilities and is a proven winner, having won the World Cup with France and the UEFA Europa League with Atletico Madrid. He could bring with him a winning mentality.

However Arsenal, already have enough people in their attacking ranks. Though Griezmann’s quality is undoubted, the player might not really fit into the Arsenal squad due to the number of quality attackers at the club already.

Antoine Griezmann is the big money signing that Arsenal do not need at the moment. There are other concerns that the club need to address as they look to go back to old form and retain their “Big Six” tag.
