Brendan Vink has formed a tag team with Shane Thorne in WWE

There was one huge upset on this week’s WWE Raw as Brendan Vink and Shane Thorne defeated the pairing of Ricochet and Cedric Alexander.

Ricochet and Alexander are two of the most talented stars on the WWE roster and have formed a decent tag team together.

However, it was Thorne and Vink that picked up the win. The pair have been together for a while too but got the green light from MVP as he started tutoring them.

The former WWE star seems to have caught hold of two rising stars, and we will look into one of them now.

Who is Brendan Vink?

Vink’s real name is Elliott Sexton and the Australian has been one of the top stars on the indie circuit in his home country.

Vink has a ton of experience under his belt too. He has more than 11 years of experience in the wrestling ring and was a heavyweight champion during his time in Australia.

He started his wrestling career in 2008 and got his break in Melbourne City Wrestling where he picked up the Heavyweight title.

Vink also travelled a bit during 2018 and started making appearances on other promotions. Progress Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling were two brands where he performed.

WWE comes calling

The Australian seems to be one of the top talents from the country, and it didn’t take long for WWE to snap him up.

Vink was signed up by WWE in 2019 and he made a few appearances on NXT. He has fought against some top stars such as Dominik Dijakovic, however, several of these have been dark matches or for home shows.

He formed a tag team with another Aussie in NXT, Thorne, and they started challenging for the NXT Tag Titles.

However, the pair were unable to get the better of The Street Profits. The Profits moved up to Raw and the Aussie pair then started facing off against Matt Riddle and Pete Dunne on several shows off.

Their first TV match was against Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan. However, they lost that but there was something more to come.

Thorne and Vink were called up to Raw in March 2020. The pair might have lost a couple of matches to the Profits and Ricochet & Alexander. But it seems they are to stay on the main roster for a while.
