For a long time, it seemed that Francis Ngannou had made a mistake not to re-sign with the UFC. The former UFC Heavyweight Champion walked away from the biggest MMA promotion in the world after his contract expired.

He was talking to many promotions and negotiations seemed to have hit a snag. However, he ended up signing with the PFL and will be fighting in the pay-per-view “super fight” division.
While Ngannou did snag a decent sum for this move, he also ensured that all his opponents earned at least $2million for all fights.
The reason Ngannou signed for the “super fight” division seems clear, the former UFC Champion was keen on boxing sometime in his career, and this allows him to do just that.
There were several demands Ngannou made during his contract negotiations with the UFC. Ngannou has now bagged a huge opponent for his next fight Tyson Fury.

The date for this boxing fight has been confirmed for now. The pair of heavyweights will clash on October 28, 2023, in what should be one of the biggest combat sports events of the year.

The location for this fight has also been confirmed. While most big events take place in the United States or the United Kingdom, this fight will take place in Saudi Arabia.
The Arab country has been hosting a lot of major events over the past few years such as Formula 1 races and other combat events. This clash will be held in the city of Riyadh, however, the stadium or arena has not been announced yet. Similarly, there hasn’t been a confirmation of what time the fight will take place.

Tyson Fury’s title will not be on the line against Francis Ngannou, but this will be a normal boxing match.
There will be three judges for the fight, and it will be scored using the 10-point system. The fight will also be 10 rounds and each round will be 3 minutes each, just like each regular boxing match.
There are doubts about whether this fight will be considered an exhibition or whether the result will be added to the professional records of both Ngannou and Fury.
This will be Ngannou’s boxing debut, and it is quite a tough clash for him going up against one of the best in the history of boxing.

Not much has been confirmed about the undercard for this event, but one fight is guaranteed. David Adeleye and Fabio Wardley will be fighting on the undercard of Ngannou vs Fury.
The pair were in attendance during the press conference of the fight alongside the main eventers. And things got a little hairy as they both ended up having a brawl.
As for other fights, John Fury, the father of Tyson, has called out boxing legend Mike Tyson to fight on the undercard. This has not been confirmed, but John would be more than happy to take up this fight (h/t Marca).

Both fighters are set to make a huge sum from this fight with Derek Chisora claiming that his former rival, Fury, will be making $50m from the fight (h/t Sporting News).
Ngannou’s number has also not been confirmed by official sources, but the former UFC Champion claimed he would be making more than 50 times what a normal UFC fighter makes in a fight.
Ngannou’s last fight saw him earn $600,000, so 50x of this would be about $30million.
That amount would easily be greater than all of his fight purses across his MMA career, which again goes to show how much money there is in boxing.
