Ngannou was born in the village of Batie in Cameroon and didn’t have a lot. He was living with his aunt early on after his parents divorced and didn’t receive a lot of education either.

The 33-year-old also worked when he was young due to a lack of funds. However, he trained in boxing during his time in Cameroon and continued to do so after emigrating to France at the age of 26.

Ngannou also was homeless for a while in France and started training for free in 2013. Things improved later on for the UFC star and is now working hard to make things better in Cameroon too.

The win over Henrique was the only start for Ngannou. The 33-year-old won his next five fights and even defeated top star Alistair Overeem.

That win at UFC 218 got him a shot at the Heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic. However, Ngannou suffered his first UFC loss to the champion and then lost again at UFC 226.

Ngannou has been on a winning streak since then and has defeated each of his last four opponents in the first round itself.
