Vince McMahon might still be active in WWE but his creative control seems to be gone

Rumours have been circulating about just how active Vince McMahon has been in WWE since the TKO merger.

The former WWE CEO wasn’t on the scene for a while after some allegations against him. However, he made a return recently and seemed to be doing a lot of the creative work.

There now seems to be a bit of a change to that. Fightful (h/t Wrestling Inc) reports that Ari Emanuel wants Triple H and Vince McMahon to stick to their assigned roles.

Triple H has taken over the entire creativity role in WWE, and that has seen several changes already on air.

The report adds that McMahon wasn’t directly overseeing the creative side of WWE. However, the 78-year-old McMahon still had some influence on creative proceedings on Raw but the feeling is more relaxed now after his change in position.

Reports add that McMahon would ask for changes remotely. One example of things changing is the reunion of DIY. McMahon did not want that to happen, but given his change in role, this was skipped out and the pair are back.

Similarly, many other changes on Raw have taken place with some stars getting TV time. There also seems to be an emphasis on the quality of matches on Raw, and that has been seen over the past two or three weeks.

There have been reports that Vince McMahon has been completely removed from the creative process in WWE.

What does this mean for Vince McMahon?

Vince McMahon will remain synonymous with WWE if not wrestling given that he is the company’s founder.

However, the past few years haven’t been great for the 78-year-old. He has made some wild decisions, with a lot of cuts happening and then getting involved in the creative process time and again.

The next shock was the merger of WWE and UFC, which not many saw coming. McMahon still kept a place in WWE after all this and was named the TKO Executive Chairman and his profile also adds that he is the WWE Founder.

McMahon is to run the WWE vertical of TKO but also reportedly has veto powers in some decision-making. He still owns 34% of WWE but Endeavor owns 51% of the company.

McMahon is also one of the five WWE representatives on an 11-strong board, and this is where his veto power comes from.

However, it seems he will be dealing with bigger issues than creativity. Partnerships and deals seem to be the big thing that McMahon is working on, and this can only mean good things from a wrestling point of view.

Triple H turned NXT into a gold mine after he took control and is doing the same for Raw and SmackDown.

It is to be seen what is next for McMahon, but the founder has not been seen on TV for a long time and it seems unlikely he will be seen on TV anytime soon.
