There are a few characters in Back 4 Blood that can be unlocked. These characters, known in-game as Cleaners, are locked unless a specific requirement is met. For those who want to try out Doc, Hoffman, Jim, and Karlee, unlocking these Cleaners will be a top priority. Fortunately, obtaining a copy of the entire roster is easy. Mom, Evangelo, Walker, and Holly are the first Cleaners to become available.

  • Mom: Can instantly revive an incapacitated teammate once per level
  • Evangelo: Can break out of grabs once every 60 seconds
  • Walker: Precision kills grant +20% accuracy for 5 seconds
  • Holly: Recovers 10 stamina when she kills a Ridden

Unlock 4 Cleaners in Back 4 Blood

Complete the first chapter of Act 1, The Devil’s Return, to unlock Doc, Hoffman, Jim, and Karlee in Back 4 Blood. Resurgence, Tunnel of Blood, Pain Train, and Crossing are the four levels in this game. You’ll see a cutscene when you finish the Crossing that introduces the locked cleaners. This completes the Paid The Toll achievement, granting you 150 Supply Points and allowing you to use all of the cleaners.

You can use the Character Select option to determine which of the four additional characters best matches your playstyle once they’ve been unlocked.
