Yair Rodriguez suffered a nasty foot injury during his fight against Max Holloway at UFC Vegas 42
Max Holloway vs Yair Rodriguez was an instant classic. The UFC Vegas 42 main event was a strike-laden masterpiece and delivered more than expected.
A total of 437 strikes were landed in the fight, and in the end, Holloway emerged the victor via. unanimous decision.
‘Blessed’ cemented his position as the number one ranked featherweight contender and now has two back-to-back wins. He is undefeated in 2021.
Rodriguez meanwhile, stepped inside the Octagon for the first time in over two years, and almost took the shine away from the Hawaiian.
Despite being the massive underdog, the Mexican came up big.
Following the fight, a number of photos of Rodriguez’s foot were circulated online. His foot was literally a balloon. Snaps also showed Rodriguez having had his foot swollen even before the fight concluded.
In fact, he had to be helped by his team while on his way out of the cage.

There was a lot of respect between the two at the post-fight interview. Holloway acknowledged Rodriguez being away from the Octagon for more than 2 years and still giving him a run for his money.
