Tony Ferguson seems to be made of something else as he didn’t submit after a heel hook from Beneil Dariush and didn’t break any part of his leg

Tony Ferguson is one of the toughest men on the planet and proved it again at UFC 262. El Cucuy was coming off the back of a couple of big losses and promised to be back to his best against Beneil Dariush.

Dariush, for his part, was keen on proving he is a contender and wanted a big name next. The Iranian-American certainly got that and he worked on Ferguson in the first two rounds.

Dariush had the edge on Ferguson when it came to grappling and wrestling, and well, he proved that all through the fight.

There was one concerning moment for Ferguson as Dariush got him locked in with a heel hook. Ferguson was grimacing in pain and he was in all sorts of trouble. It was a surprise to see Ferguson scream out in pain but he didn’t break anything in his leg and El Cucuy somehow escaped.

Further, Ferguson was able to continue fighting and finished the clash. However, Ferguson was unable to overcome the wrestling of Dariush and El Cucuy got the loss.

Tony Ferguson injured his leg in the heel hook

Dariush was ecstatic after the win and spoke about being a challenger for the title. The main event sees Charles Oliveira take on Michael Chandler for the vacant Lightweight title.

However, Dariush, while speaking to Joe Rogan confirmed he heard something pop when he had Ferguson in the heel hook.

Dariush added that he even spoke to Ferguson but El Cucuy said nothing happened and walked away. There will be further doubts about El Cucuy’s future but the American proved he can survive anything.

This isn’t the first time Ferguson hasn’t tapped or submitted to a horrible move, and it will be interesting to see what is next for him.
