Conor McGregor highlighted how skilled his son already is in the fight game

Conor McGregor faces Dustin Poirier in a huge main event at UFC 257. The Irishman seems ready for a shot at the Lightweight title too but any McGregor fight has a lot of media hype around him.

ESPN did an interview with McGregor ahead of the Fight Island clash. Ariel Helwani was the one asking questions and the former champion was asked about his son, Conor Jack.

The three-year-old has been pictured and captured fighting and training with his father. However, there is a long way to go before he steps into proper training.

Helwani asked McGregor if his son would be a fighter in 20 years and the Notorious One brought up how skilled his son already is:

“He will certainly be skilled as a fighter. He already is skilled as a fighter. He has got phenomenal punching power, he has got phenomenal kicks and dexterity in his legs.”

McGregor also claimed that his son wrestles with the son of his wrestling coach, who is an older kid. The former champion added that his son loves all of it and he isn’t being pushed or forced into the disciplines.

The Irishman, however, wasn’t sure if his son was going to follow his footsteps into fighting.

“As time goes on, will he want to compete, will he want to get in and do it, I am not sure. But he will be skilled to do so and that is all he sees at the minute.”

McGregor added that his children are free to do whatever they want and they have his blessing. The former champion added that Conor Jack is a “force to be reckoned with” in anything that he does.

The younger Conor has a long time to go before he starts to train properly, but there is no doubt he has the fighting genes and it will be interesting to see if he does follow the big steps of his dad.
