Darren Elkins put on an absolute clinic after being down and out, to beat Darrick Minner at UFC Vegas 32

Things got interesting even before the UFC Vegas 32 main event kicked off, as Darren Elkins produced a sensational comeback win against Darrick Minner.

Minner was all over Elkins in the first round of the fight, beating him from pillar to post. At one point it looked like Elkins would succumb to the beating of Minner, but the man from Indiana weathered the storm in the first round.

Only a few gave the bloodied Elkins a chance in the second round, although it is characteristic of Elkins to come back from the jaws of defeat. Minner was once again all over Elkins in round 2.

Minner then went for a guillotine, which he would probably regret if he gets to see the fight tape or replay once again. After failing to tighten the grip on the guillotine, Minner found himself on the ground with Elkins on top.

The guillotine attempt had gassed out Minner, and down he was defenseless, getting beat down by a zombified Elkins. The tough 37-year old saw this as the opportunity and began unleashing haymakers on Minner, who couldn’t defend himself.

The referee had to wave off the fight ultimately, awarding the win to Elkins via. TKO.

An amazed Daniel Cormier, who was in the commentary panel called Elkins, “A grimy son of a gun.”

Maycee Barber earns a narrow split decision win over Miranda Maverick

In a high-voltage women’s flyweight contest in the main card of UFC Vegas 32, up and coming Maycee Barber took on another rising women’s fighter, Miranda Maverick.

The match went the whole three rounds, and Barber earned a narrow split decision victory over Maverick.

It was the third round that played in favour of Barber, after she hit Maverick with a massive spinning back elbow at the very end of the round.
