Conor McGregor has hit the lowest of lows in the UFC in recent times

For the first time in his MMA career, Conor McGregor slumped to back-to-back defeats, after losing to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. The Irishman’s ankle snapped towards the very end of the first round, resulting in the fight being awarded to Poirier due to a doctor stoppage.

Gone are the days when McGregor was a two-division champion, back in November 2016. In fact, his slump began right after that night. Since then he has won just 1 fight and lost three. He recently dropped down to number 9 in the UFC lightweight rankings, a new low.

Elsewhere, Tyron Woodley, who was released from the UFC several months ago, gave his thoughts on McGregor. He accused McGregor of always being after clout, before going on to state that he never considered him a “great fighter”.

Woodley, the former UFC welterweight champion, told Submission Radio:

“I was after greatness. He was after clout, he was after being infamous and he just happened to actually be good. I don’t consider Conor to be great, there are so many fighters that are better than Conor. Conor’s a good fighter, he was better at brainwashing people, getting into their minds, doing the research, and press conferences and you know, getting underneath their skin and forcing them out of their zone. He never done that to me, he did that to Eddie Alvarez, he was doing it to RDA.”

Woodley was quoted as saying:

“So many fighters lost the fight before they fought him because he had a way of getting underneath their skin in a way that we had never seen before.”

It is worth noting that, Woodley is all set to face YouTuber Jake Paul in a boxing match, that is set to take place on the 29th of August.
