Tai Tuivasa brought out his shoey celebration after an incredible KO of Greg Hardy at UFC 264

Tai Tuivasa is known for his punching power but also for his shoey celebration. The Australian was able to show off both in his UFC 264 fight against Greg Hardy.

Tuivasa came into this fight as the favourite and showed off his acumen by hitting his rival with several low leg kicks.

However, Hardy, who was 7-3-1 coming into this fight, used some of his NFL experience as well. He survived the kicks and then seemed to have gotten Tuivasa into all sorts of trouble.

It seemed Tuivasa was going to get knocked out but he hit Hardy with one punch and the former NFL star was down for the count.

Tuivasa wasn’t done yet, he brought out his shoey celebration and well, that got a lot of people talking.

Tuivasa spoke after the fight and brought up how much he loved the fans. He also claimed that he was the wrong person to try and “bang” with, and well he proved it.

What is the Tai Tuivasa shoey celebration?

For those uninitiated with the shoey celebration, it is basically drinking alcohol out of someone’s shoe.

This is a bit of an Australian tradition as Daniel Ricciardo, the F1 star, also does the same when he wins a race.

Tuivasa has done this celebration several times in the past, and he doesn’t seem to care where the drinks come from.

The commentators claimed that his first shoey outside of the Octagon was filled with hot sauce. However, Tuivasa also drank out of the shoe of another fan while walking back after the win.

It is easy to see why Tuivasa is such a well-liked figure in the UFC and for the fans. He is a character that everyone can get behind and well, he has the wins to back that up to.
