Jake Paul beat Ben Askren in their boxing an an embarrassing fashion

After months of back and forth on social media, Jake Paul and Ben Askren finally fought in their much-hyped and much-awaited boxing match.

Now, many would argue that Askren is perhaps not representing MMA when he boxed Paul, but 17th April, 2021 turned out to be a bleak day for the sport nonetheless.

The American YouTuber knocked ‘Funky’ out comprehensively. Askren, to be fair, did get up. But the referee saw him unable to continue.

Another questionable victory was thus added to Paul’s professional boxing career which has seen him beat a fellow YouTuber, an NBA player, and now an MMA fighter that can’t really box.

Askren, who is still contracted by UFC, was seen smiling and celebrating backstage after his loss, leading many to question if the fight was legit or if it was fixed.

Michael Bisping explains why Jake Paul targeted Ben Askren

Moving on from that, former UFC middleweight champion, Michael Bisping gave his views on if MMA fighters could beat Paul in a boxing match.

He said that they easily could, and that Ben Askren was carefully handpicked because of his fighting style- he can’t strike at all.

Bisping is right, obviously, when he makes that statement. There are a plethora of MMA fighters that can skin Paul alive.

One can only imagine what will happen to Paul if he gets inside the ring against someone like Jon Jones, Conor McGregor, or hell, even Francis Ngannou, considering the beast ever makes cruiserweight.

Paul has repeatedly targeted McGregor in the past but ‘The Notorious One’ has not once acknowledge it. MMA fans would now hope that an actual boxer can take up the mantle of shutting up Paul once and for all when it comes to boxing.
