Marvin Vettori has come out in defense of Beneil Dariush after Conor Mcgregor brutally mocked him

Conor McGregor does not hold back in retaliating when an insult is hurled at him. The latest entrant in a growing list of fighters who have criticized the biggest superstar in MMA is Beneil Dariush.

Following his spectacular victory against Justin Gaethje at UFC 274, Charles Oliveira called out Conor McGregor, possibly for a fight in Brazil. While some fans and MMA experts were receptive of the idea, others slammed it completely owing to the Irishman’s record and current inactivity due to injury.

The callout aggravated Beneil Dariush. In a recent interview on The Fighter vs. The Writer podcast, he stated:

“He’s talking about wanting to fight Conor McGregor, and he talks about how these guys never gave him a shot when he was outside the top five, blah, blah, blah. We were supposed to fight October of 2020. I have a fight contract, I can post a picture of it. I was supposed to fight Charles, and he pulled out of the fight, and then a couple months later, instead of fighting me, he fought Tony Ferguson. He said something about family issues and I’m not going to say, ‘Oh, he didn’t fight me, I can’t believe it.’ Family comes first, I understand that. But the same thing people did to him, he’s doing to me.”

Reacting to the criticism, McGregor called Dariush the biggest nobody in the game today. He said,‘ Beneil Dariush is the biggest nobody in the company’

Vettori who regularly trains with Beneil, and considers him a good friend quickly came out in defense, and said that the ‘Notorious’ one wouldn’t last two minutes if the pair ever fought each other. He posted a tweet saying,

What a bitch @TheNotoriousMMA
You couldn’t last 2 min with Beneil and that’s just a fact.
You are scumbag, I hope to see you soon’

‘Free Nate Diaz’- Marvin Vettori has voiced his support for good friend Nate Diaz over his on-going dispute with the UFC

Nate Diaz has his sights set on a move away from the sport, with a feasible jump to boxing. The younger Diaz brother was among the first wave of fighters that set motion the fighter pay dispute. He has been vocal about his contract with the UFC, and along with his brother Nick, became the first of a very elite group of fighters to negotiate PPV points into their contract without a belt.

It’s being rumored that the UFC is stalling Diaz’s move by offering him difficult fights, while he has been throwing names at the UFC top brass for his last fight.

Weighing in on the situation, Marvin Vettori has come out in support of his good friend Nate Diaz. The pair have sparred each other sporadically in the past, and share a cordial relationship.

During a recent interview with The Schmo, Vettori was asked about how he felt about the quagmire, to which he replied,

“I don’t know exactly what is going on. Yeah man free Nate, if he wants to go let him go you know.”
