Chan Sung Jung vs Dan Ige headlines this weekend’s UFC Fight Night

UFC returns this weekend with a featherweight bout – Chan Sung Jung vs Dan Ige as the main event.

‘The Korean Zombie’ is returning to the Octagon for the first time following his disappointing unanimous decision loss against Brian Ortega in October 2020. He is currently ranked number 4 in the featherweight division.

Dan Ige, on the other hand, is coming off a stunning one-punch knockout victory over Gavin Tucker, earlier this year in March. A win here for ’50K’ Ige might probably propel him into the top 5 of the featherweight rankings.

The rising star will be looking forward to making a statement against the fan-favourite Korean Zombie.

In the wake of their matchup, UFC lightweight GOAT Khabib Nurmagomedov reshared Ige’s photo and posted a story in support of the Hawaiian.

“Let’s go my brother,” Khabib wrote on his Instagram story.

Khabib Nurmagomedov opens up on his UFC return

In a recent interaction with RT Sport, following EAGLE FC 37, Khabib was asked if he would return to the UFC, if fellow Dagestani, Islam Makhachev goes all the way to the final and fails to capture the lightweight title.

Khabib didn’t sound interested about making a return, as always and stated that he didn’t have any desire to make a comeback.

“Well, it looks like I have already let everybody know what’s up. Did you watch my last fight? That was firsthand, wasn’t it? I don’t think, anything will change. Islam Makhachev has his own way. I have mine. If Islam fails, he is capable of taking care of himself. But we will be next to him – to help and never let him fail. As for myself, I don’t have any desire to come back. And I don’t think I ever will.” [via RT Sport YouTube]

Islam Makhachev takes on Thiago Moses on the 17th of July in the co-main event of UFC on ESPN 26.
