Khabib Nurmagomedov is one of the greatest in UFC history but he believed that Cristiano Ronaldo could have become a champion too

There is no denying the fact that Khabib Nurmagomedov loves football and the UFC legend was at one of the biggest matches from this week.

The retired UFC star was at the Nou Camp to see Spanish side Barcelona host Paris Saint-Germain in a round of 16 Champions League clash.

Khabib wished PSG the best in the clash and saw a great performance from them. The French side defeated Barcelona 4-1 in the first leg with Kylian Mbappe getting a hat-trick.

Not only that, Khabib also was handed the jersey from Mbappe while he also got the jersey of PSG keeper Keylor Navas.

Khabib might be auctioning that away for charity, like he has done in the past, but he posted another big update after the match.

This update featured a small story about his love for football and how Cristiano Ronaldo could have become a UFC champion but with one caveat:

I’ve loved football since my childhood and always dreamed of becoming a footballer, but I was born in Dagestan and you know yourselves, what the priority is,” Khabib wrote (h/t RT sport)

“Who knows, maybe if Cristiano Ronaldo was born in Dagestan, he would have also become a UFC champion.”

Khabib Nurmagomedov obsessed with football

The Russian has posted a lot of content regarding his love for football. He was backing PSG to win this clash and well, he got that right.

Khabib has also played in several charity games and shown off his skills. However, he also opened up on how obsessed he was with the sport while growing up:

“I will tell you sometime, about my own obsession with football in childhood and how sitting in class in 6th grade I wrote in my notebook 200 football names (there was no internet back then).

“I was pleased to be at this legendary stadium and see in real life such a battle.”

Khabib has always spoken about how tough life was while growing up in Dagestan. The UFC great had confirmed that he was fighting all the time and there is a huge pool of Dagestani stars looking to make it big in the MMA world.

Ronaldo, for his part, is one of the greatest footballers ever. He has won almost every title there is to win, apart from the World Cup, and he could have been an MMA star had he been with Khabib and born in Dagestan.
