Conor McGregor would have to move up to Welterweight to fight Jorge Masvidal

Jack Shore is the latest to show his support for a possible Conor McGregor vs Jorge Masvidal fight.

Shore, who is undefeated in his MMA career, has won all four of his UFC fights. While there has been talk of McGregor returning to action later this year, some believe a fight with Masvidal would be ideal for the Irishman.

Shore too tweeted about this and was keen to see Masvidal vs McGregor.

McGregor had looked beefed up in recent photos and Sonnen claimed this was in response to Dana White saying that Masvidal was too big for the Irishman.

White’s comments have only added fuel to the fire, and there is no doubt that a fight between two of the best trash talkers in MMA would be a huge PPV.

The big stumbling block is McGregor having to move up to Welterweight. Masvidal cutting down to Lightweight also seems unlikely, so it will be interesting to see which division this potential blockbuster could take place.

Can Conor McGregor vs Jorge Masvidal be scheduled?

Both Masvidal and McGregor are on losing skids and don’t seem to be at their best. Masvidal is coming off a huge loss to Colby Covington at UFC 272.

Gamebred was outclassed by his former friend throughout the five rounds, and it came as a bit of a shock given how he had talked up his game before taking on Chaos.

McGregor, on his part, has lost his last two fights which were against Dustin Poirier. The Irishman is also coming off a horrible leg break in his last fight, and it will be interesting to see when he does return to the Octagon.

McGregor could get a title shot against Charles Oliveira on his return, simply because of his pulling power. However, if the Irishman decides to do something else, Masvidal could be waiting for him.
