Henry Cejudo extends his support to Colby Covington for pressing charges against Jorge Masvidal after an altercation at a restaurant in Miami
UFC welterweight Jorge Masvidal had been arrested and charged for his assault on fellow fighter Colby Covington at Papi Steak restaurant in Miami. Reports had emerged that Colby Covington pressed charges against Jorge Masvidal for his actions.
In an episode of The Schmozone Podcast, Henry Cejudo extended his support to Colby Covington, and said that he would’ve done something similar in such a case.
He also suggested that Colby should possibly rematch Masvidal, and negotiate PPV points into his contract this time. He said,
“I think if I was in Colby’s situation – it’s hard for me to not say, especially if you sucker-punch and not press charges. Because if somebody sucker-punched me, I’m pressing charges, dude. You know what I’m saying? Like, I’m really pressing charges. I don’t care who you are. Because that’s just not cool. But the plan B, like, for me for Colby would be – fight him again. Fight him again and get pay-per-view points this time. Get your money back in that way.”
It is apparent by now that Colby is a better fighter than Masvidal but a rematch would make sense given the nature of their beef and lingering animosity.

Former UFC light heavyweight contender Corey Anderson has expressed his views on the matter, deprecating Colby’s approach towards building a brand, and hysterically mocks him.
The ‘Overtime’ has called Colby the ‘GOAT’ of keyboard warriors, and suggested that the Oregon born fighter should stick to just fighting.
He put out a tweet saying, ‘ Colby is the keyboard warriors ‘goat’! Only fighter I know that will talk that much trash on camera but runs to hide and call the cops each time he’s confronted…. that’s the THIRD time! Just stick to fighting in the cage and stop talking in the streets. #Covington #masvidal‘
