Conor McGregor seems to be in the sights of Derrick Lewis as his next fight

The latest UFC event sees Derrick Lewis fight Curtis Blaydes but he has a big name on his mind next.

Blaydes vs Lewis should be a fantastic bout with both stars looking to move up in the Heavyweight rankings.

Lewis is on a three-fight win streak and is known for his knockout power while Blaydes has brought up his ground game.

However, The Black Beast, Lewis, already has another big name on his mind after this fight. The American was speaking to the media before this Saturday’s clash and was asked who his opponent would be if he won this clash.

The Heavyweight named former two-division champion Conor McGregor and this was a bit of a joke since McGregor had called out Lewis several times in the past:

“This one guy who has been talking trash for years, Conor McGregor.

“He been calling me out. Every interview he be calling me out so I believe I have to fight him next.”

Excited for the main event

Lewis also spoke about his excitement of featuring in the main event but wasn’t too pleased with it being five rounds.

Nevertheless, The Black Beast was looking to make the fight more exciting and wasn’t keen on boring fights.

The 35-year-old also didn’t know what to expect from his rival and just wanted to impress in the Octagon. A win for Lewis should see him get closer to a title shot but a fight against McGregor is unlikely to ever happen.

While McGregor has called Lewis out in the past they are in different divisions. Neither of them can reach the other’s division and it seems this battle will only take place via words, unless there is some crazy fight set up by the UFC.
