The pair last met just 6 months ago on the 24th of January at UFC 257. McGregor was not at his elemental trash-talking best. He was quiet and respectful towards Poirier.

However, McGregor ended up losing the fight via. second-round knockout. Following the loss, McGregor announced that he would not be ‘Mr. Nice Guy’ again, and it has been showing of late.

More recently, he took his mind-games to another level as he took to Twitter to share a screenshot of Poirier’s wife Jolie attempting to DM him.

The image has to be a morphed one without any question, and it is just one of McGregor’s antics trying to get into Poirier’s head ahead of the fight.

Conor McGregor channels his inner Jake Paul as he taunts Dustin Poirier

In a post, McGregor recently shared on Instagram, he brought out a ‘Jake Paul’ reference. Sharing a photo of himself landing a clean right hand on Poirier during UFC 257, McGregor captioned the post: “Gotcha Ears.”

The caption was in reference to YouTube star Jake Paul stealing Floyd Mayweather’s hat at a pre-fight press conference between his brother Logan and Mayweather.

Despite being beaten to a pulp by Mayweather’s entourage, Paul went home and started a merch line under the name Gotcha Hat.

“I’m glad I could teach you something old man.”
