Chael Sonnen takes a shot at Jon Jones over $30million fight fee rumours

Former UFC Fighter Chael Sonnen took a swipe at Jon Jones over the recent $30 million fight fee rumours.

One of the greatest trash-talkers in the history of the sport, Sonnen is brutal and unforgiving when it comes to voicing out his opinions. Who can forget the fighter-turned-analyst’s press conference during his match against Tito Ortiz where he destroys Ortiz on the mic.

Being a YouTuber himself, Uncle Chael is very much active on social media, almost quote tweeting every MMA tweet there is.

Stumbling upon the recent Jon Jones tweet, wherein an angered Jones was seen telling UFC President Dana White that he never discussed wanting $30 million for fighting Francis Ngannou, Sonnen decided to take a shot at his former rival.

Sonnen wrote on Twitter that Jones has been saying everything except wanting to fight Francis Ngannou.

Uncle Chael tweeted:

“This GENIUS just stated his ceiling. He’s said everything on Earth except, I WANT FRANCIS.”

Jon Jones and Chael Sonnen’s rivalry date back to 2012

Things have always been sour between Jon Jones and Chael Sonnen ever since Jones declined to fight Sonnen at UFC 151. Jones who was then scheduled to fight Dan Henderson, refused to fight Sonnen (who was a replacement fighter) after Henderson pulled out.

Jones’ stubborn nature resulted in widespread criticism, with UFC President Dana White and Sonnen ripping into Bones.

Then Jones and Sonnen were made the coaches at the Ultimate Fighter Season 17. They were set to meet at UFC 159. After Jones’ vehement refusal of fighting Sonnen initially (because he felt he was a ‘pathetic’ light-heavyweight), the fight went ahead.

Jones had no trouble finishing Uncle Chael, as he came up trumps via.TKO in the very first round.

Since then, the pair occasionally have a go at each other on social media. And, things turned ugly last year when Jones and Sonnen had a nasty verbal spat on Twitter without even mentioning each others’ names.

Hence, there is a great chance this might turn into a mini Twitter war as well.
