Former UFC welterweight fighter Ben Askren has made an observation regarding Amanda Nunes’ fight shape going into UFC 277

The latest chapter in the Amanda Nunes and Julianna Pena rivalry will be scripted, possibly in conclusion, when the pair clash in the main event of UFC 277. UFC 277 is set to take place at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, on July 30. Julianna Pena who beat Amanda Nunes by submission in one of the greatest upsets in UFC history has openly said that Nunes deserves a rematch and she will be up for the challenge. They will face off in a sequel of their epic battle at UFC 269 that made Pena the new bantamweight sweetheart. This rematch will give Pena an opportunity to lay down any doubts that the win was a fluke, and will give Amanda another opportunity to showcase why she is the most feared fighter in women’s MMA history.

While Julianna Pena put on the single most valiant performance in their first match, an important factor for the loss was the demeanor of Amanda Nunes. The usually ferocious lioness looked like a shadow of her own self, and looked like she didn’t want to be in there. Her punches lacked sting, and her cardio did not serve her any good either.

If Nunes is to be believed, she has left no stones unturned for this fight. She wants to reclaim the bantamweight gold, and sit on top of the women’s MMA fighting landscape. She is determined that she has what it takes to recapture the belt, and will not let that loss determine the outcome of this fight at UFC 277.

Former UFC welterweight fighter Ben Askren took notice of Nunes’ shredded physique leading up to fight week, and asked fans online for approval. He wrote, ”Is it just me or does Nunes looking significantly leaner than the previous match up??”

Ben Askren reacts to Nate Diaz vs Khamzat Chimaev

Ever since ESPN reporter Brett Okamoto broke out the news that a fight between UFC superstar Nate Diaz and Khamzat Chimaev will headline UFC 279, the internet has been running amok.

While fans are praising the bravado, and courage of Nate Diaz to face a young, hungry lion, others are worried that the Stockton slugger might not stand a chance against the undefeated Chechen. This will be the last fight of Nate Diaz’s UFC contract, and a potential move to boxing seems like an inevitable outcome.

Nate Diaz has been importuning the UFC for a fight against Dustin Poirier. However, if experts are to be believed, the UFC top brass does not want to book Diaz in a fight in which he has significant or even slight advantage over his opponent. They have presented the Stockton native with the mammoth task of fighting the undefeated Khamzat Chimaev.

Chimaev has taken the MMA world by storm, ever since he made his debut in 2020. The Russian-born- Swedish mixed martial artist is pitted to be the only fighter in the welterweight division that really stands a chance to beat the welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman. The promotion has been working relentlessly to get a top-ranked competition for him, and it finally come to effectuation with a fight against no.2 ranked, Gilbert Burns at UFC 273.

Reacting to the announcement of the fight, former One Championship and Bellator champion Ben Askren wrote, ”😬😬😬 this might be really ugly”
