Cory Sandhagen got a highlight knockout against Frankie Edgar thanks to a knee in the first round

The co-main event of the latest UFC Fight Night provided a huge talking point for the MMA world.

Bantamweights Cory Sandhagen and Frankie Edgar met and the fight ended with an incredible knee.

The fight was barely 30 seconds in before Sandhagen used a knee and struck former UFC Champion Edgar flush in the face.

Edgar fell down like a pack of cards, but in slow motion, and Sandhagen proved he was ready for a title shot.

The Sandman picked up a second brilliant KO win after a loss against Aljamain Sterling but there was more to come.

This knee was the second fastest knee knockout in the history of the UFC. This came at 28 seconds and the fastest UFC knee knockout remains with Jorge Masvidal.

That was achieved against Ben Askren and Funky has been tagged several times regarding this historic UFC moment.

However, Funky also has a great sense of humour and he posted a typical reaction to the knee KO.

The knee got Sandhagen the Performance of the Night bonus too and he believed he deserved a shot for the UFC Bantamweight title.

Ben Askren also looking to fight Jake Paul

While Sandhagen will want to fight the winner of Petr Yan vs Aljamain Sterling, Askren, for his part, will also be in action.

While Funky had been out for more than a year after undergoing surgery, he is to return to fighting. However, it is a little different to an MMA fight as he takes up the boxing gloves. Also, he won’t be fighting a professional but rather YouTuber Jake Paul.

Paul is 2-0 in his career and has called out several MMA stars such as Conor McGregor. However, it was Askren that took up the challenge.

It is to be seen how that fight goes but Askren has been training hard, but claimed that he was only returning for special fights and won’t be in action regularly.

Askren was undefeated in his MMA career before getting knocked out the fastest in UFC history. Funky achieved a lot in his career before the KO and Paul should be a little cautious, even in a boxing match.
