Dominance MMA Management CEO Ali Abdelaziz shared an update on when his client Justin Gaethje will be having his next fight.

‘The Highlight’ Justin Gaethje hasn’t stepped inside the octagon since his loss in that iconic match to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 254. It was a title unification bout for the lightweight championship.

Khabib announced his retirement after that fight, as he made light work of Gaethje in just two rounds.

After having not competed in more than 6 months, Gaethje currently sits at number 2 in the lightweight rankings, and unlike other top ranked lightweight opponents, he is the only one without a fight.

Gaethje’s manager Ali Abdelaziz addressed the uncertainty surrounding Gaethje’s next fight in a recent interview with the Schmo. Abdelaziz sternly explained that Gaethje wouldn’t take up any fight that doesn’t make sense and that he is right now, in an important phase of his career.

Abdelaziz told Schmo:

“I am continuing to talk with the UFC, Sean Shelby specifically. We are gonna figure something out. It has to make sense for Justin Gaethje. Justin Gaethje cannot just fight anybody at this point of his career. The man is a fan favourite, he always gives us entertainment. We’ll all realize his goodness, only when he leaves.”

The Schmo then feared that Gaethje might be left out as the odd man. Since the winner of Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier will be taking on the winner of the title bout between Michael Chandler and Charles Oliveira.

A confident Abdelaziz replied:

“We [UFC and his team] always meet at the end. We’ll figure something out, in the next week or so. We’ll know what we are gonna do with Justin Gaethje.”

Ali Abdelaziz believes Justin Gaethje will become the lightweight champion soon

As much as fight fans hate Ali Abdelaziz, his clients love him.

The Dominance MMA Management CEO shares a great bond with all his clients from Khabib Nurmagomedov to Kamaru Usman.

Abdelaziz also told the Schmo that Gaethje is undoubtedly the best lightweight in the UFC, and that nobody in the top 5 would be able to beat him. He firmly believed that the ‘Highlight’ would become the champion soon.
