Tulsa King Season 2: Mob Drama’s Uncertain Fate Amid Writers’ Strike


Tulsa King has enjoyed a highly successful first season and was renewed for another round; however, due to the current Writers Strike it will not air any new episodes until this dispute ends. The production team has not revealed about the release date yet.

Sylvester Stallone plays Dwight Manfredi, an astute mafioso sent to Tulsa, Oklahoma to rid itself of criminal elements. This series was developed by Taylor Sheridan and produced with executive producers including Stallone himself as well as Terence Winter and Ron Burkle as showrunners; Ron Burkle; Bob Yari; and David C Glasser serving as showrunners.

That changed with Tulsa King on Paramount Plus which stars him as Dwight Manfredi from New York Mafia who finds himself out-of-place in Tulsa Oklahoma.

Paramount Network renewed it before even showing its first episode! When its inaugural season premiered in November 2022, it set streaming records that have never been broken before and proved so successful that Paramount Network even pre-renewed for another round before airing the inaugural episode had even finished airing!

But the news is not all positive: behind-the-scenes issues could impede its release. First off, original showrunner Terence Winter left due to creative differences with creator Taylor Sheridan; furthermore, an ongoing writers’ strike has delayed production on the show.

Tulsa King captured audiences and reviews alike during its first season, leading to its renewal for a second run. Unfortunately, however, the writers’ strike could affect production – although Stallone has expressed his support and empathy towards their cause.

This show follows New York mob boss Dwight Manfredi after being exiled to Tulsa by his bosses to establish illegal operations there. Alongside him is his trusted crew consisting of Martin Starr as Bodhi and Andrea Savage as Stacy Beale – helping him navigate a foreign landscape.

Domenick Lombardozzi (Ray Donovan, Daredevil) stars as Chickie Invernizzi while Max Casella (Boardwalk Empire, The Good Fight) portrays Armand Truisi. The first season of Paramount+ series debuted on November 20,22 to over 3.7 Million viewers at its premiere.

After an action-packed season 1 that ended with an exciting cliffhanger, Tulsa King fans are eagerly awaiting season 2. Starring Sylvester Stallone as Dwight Manfredi from New York who’s exiled to Tulsa following his 25 year prison sentence, viewers follow Dwight Manfredi through his journey into Tulsa King and it tells his tale.

Tulsa King was developed from a previously-titled project called Kansas City and features changes made by showrunner Taylor Sheridan that include moving the setting to Tulsa instead of Kansas City and other significant adjustments made to its cast by showrunner Patrick Meagher (Bodhi), Max Casella (Ray Donovan), Jay Will (Dexter) and Vincent Piazza (Boardwalk Empire). Martin Starr plays Bodhi while Vincent Piazza plays Ray Donovan.

Sheridan’s track record as a successful television creator was further cemented with this raucous mob drama. Its gripping and captivating gangster story offered a fresh take on traditional mafia tales while providing an explosive, riveting TV experience. After an overwhelming response for the first season, Paramount+ swiftly renewed it and has high hopes for its sequel season.

6. Jay Will

At present, no official announcement has been made for Tulsa King season 2. However, as Terence Winter left and the writers’ strike is underway it could take quite some time before anything official comes about.
