Let’s look at the 5 big WWE superstars, including Triple H, who are known for losing more than winning at WrestleMania
WrestleMania 37 is just around the corner. The biggest wrestling event of all takes place over two nights, on April 10th and 11th, and features the biggest names in the sport on the match card.
The glorious ‘festival’ of wrestling is synonymous with career defining moments and wins for most wrestlers. But there are some WWE superstars who have had their fair share of high-profile losses at the event as well.
You could even call them the good guys because of their willingness to roll over and give their opponent, and the fans, a moment which is bigger than their own selves. So without further ado, let’s see the 5 big stars that have amassed a serious number of losses at the event.

5. Kurt Angle (6 losses)
Kurt Angle is a wrestling legend and an iconic WWE performer who has made a massive name for himself in the sport. And as you would expect, he was also featured in some of the great WrestleMania matches over the years.
His two most famous losses were perhaps him, unfortunately, losing the heavyweight championship to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XIX due to needing time off for surgery, and an (indirect) loss of title to Rey Mysterio in a triple threat match for the title at WrestleMania 22. His last WM loss came at WrestleMania 35 to Baron Corbin, after which he retired.
4. Chris Jericho (9 losses)
Chris Jericho was a WWE superstar in the truest sense of that word. On top of his wrestling ability, his ability to work the mic, his persona, his wrestling attire, and his reputation as the lead singer of a pretty cool rock band really shot his character to superstar status.
And that saw him fight in 14 WrestleMania matches over the course of his career. These included some pretty iconic as well as embarrassing losses. Jericho took part in the first ever Money in the Bank match at WM 21, which Edge went on to win.
His WM XXVIII defeat to CM Punk was perhaps the most iconic WrestleMania loss of his career, while losing to Fandango at WrestleMania 29 was as low as it got. His last loss, at WrestleMania 33 to Kevin Owens was demoted to the secondary card and this disrespected actually forced “Y2J” to go out and seek work elsewhere.
3. Randy Orton (10 losses)
‘The Viper’ Randy Orton has been a WrestleMania regular for a while and is still going strong. But he has had a very bad record at the event, losing 10 of his 16 fights that he has had. He does have a few iconic wins at the event, such as his WrestleMania 33 win against Bray Wyatt for the WWE championship.
But the fights where has lost have historically been better spectacles. His first WM loss came to The Undertaker at WrestleMania 21, and since then he has lost 9 times more. Most notably, he lost to Triple H at WM 25, and also lost a triple threat match at WrestleMania 30 against Daniel Bryan and Batista. These were both main events that he headlined.
2. Shawn Michaels (11 losses)
It’s crazy to think that a legend like Shawn Michaels has almost double the losses than he has wins at WrestleMania. Michaels has fought in 17 WM matches and come out as a winner just 6 times. But his losses have come in matches that have gone down as cornerstone events in the history of the promotion.
His matches against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 25 and 26 were iconic to say the very least. The one at WM 26 was the one that made him retire, due to the match’s stipulation. He was rightly inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame shortly after that.
1. Triple H (13 losses)
Triple H has the second most WrestleMania matches ever, with 23 And when you fight those many matches, you’re expected to lose a fair few. His loss percentage is actually not bad considering not all his matches have been singles matches at WrestleMania.
And just like his former DX tag team partner, Shawn Michaels, ‘The Game’ also had two iconic WM matches with The Undertaker. Both of those came immediately after Michael’s retirement as Triple H sought to seek revenge for his friend and end ‘The Streak. Apart from that, Hunter has other iconic losses at the grandest stage of all; most notably to Daniel Bryan at WM 30 and in the first triple threat main event at WrestleMania XX where the late Chris Benoit defeated him and Michaels.
