Transfer News: Liverpool are keeping tabs on Jamal Lewis and Lloyd Kelly

According to Goal (h/t Express), Liverpool are keeping tabs on both Jamal Lewis and Lloyd Kelly ahead of the summer transfer window.

Left-back is a position that the club is keen to strengthen. Andrew Robertson is the undisputed first choice at the club. he has played 70 of Liverpool’s last 74 Premier League games and it is essential that the club brings in a dependable backup.

Makeshift left-back James Milner has acted as a commendable backup to the Scot. However, at 34 he is not getting any younger. Youngster Yasser Larouci too is keen to seek his fortunes elsewhere which leaves the spot lightweight in terms of backup. If you are up for a bit of betting, provides a decent option for you to take a punt that Klopp can work his magic and improve the youngster into a world-class player.

Kelly is another player who has captured the Reds’ attention. Liverpool was linked with him last summer, only for him to move to Bournemouth. The Cherries are yet another side that could go down this season. Kelly however has played just seven times in the Premier League this season and has less experience compared to Lewis.

Both players are English which will also boost our homegrown player quota. With Nathaniel Clyne gone and Adam Lallana set to follow, restocking on homegrown players is also something the club needs to look at.

Liverpool have recruited some real gems from relegated sides in recent years. The likes of Georginio Wijnaldum and Andrey Robertson have all played key roles in the club’s recent success.

With Lewis and/or Kelly, that trend could be set to continue. Enter the to bet on Liverpool getting this deal over the line.
