Tottenham Hotspur are one of the few clubs that have failed to make any signings before the start of the World Cup. This could see their targets’ prices rise, depending on their performances. Regardless, Mauricio Pochettino is yet to win his first cup with the team, and he must aim to do so as soon as possible. Although Spurs have progressed far, Pochettino needs to win a trophy.

One player who could help them add silverware to their trophy cabinet is Aston Villa midfielder, Jack Grealish. Spurs have been keen (Sky Sports) to snap him up and it will be interesting to see if Pochettino succeeds in his attempt to bring him to White Hart Lane this summer.

Jack Grealish

The club require added depth in the midfield area and Grealish seems like a promising prospect. It’s not often that Daniel Levy goes for players from lower leagues. However, Dele Alli was scouted from a lower side and he has established himself as one of their best players. The same could happen with Grealish as well.

After all, Spurs have one of the best scouting departments in the country and if they are looking at Grealish as a realistic option, it only means he’s got the potential.

Grealish joined the Villans in 2012 and he has gone on to make a total of 92 appearances for the club. The English midfielder made 22 appearances for Aston Villa in the Championship last season, scoring 3 goals and providing 6 assists in the process.

He possesses excellent dribbling abilities and is a technically gifted player. With concerns over Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen’s future at the club, Spurs might just be forced to make a signing. The Dane has been linked with Barcelona, and when the Spanish clubs come calling, it’s hard to decline.

At the age of 22, Grealish has a lot of years left in his tank. He is surely one to watch for the future and would be a great signing for Tottenham. The youngster has also played in the Premier League with Villa, meaning he’s not short of experience at the highest level. It would be a smart piece of business if Levy completes a deal to sign him.
