Three ideal Premier League destinations for Aaron Mooy

Huddersfield Town star Aaron Mooy is one of the relegation-threatened side’s best players. While no one wants David Wagner’s side to lose their battle in the Premier League, if push comes to shove, they could lose the Australian. His skill-set combined with his tenacity and eye for goal makes him a brilliant player and while injuries have kept him out from helping this season, Mooy is still a class act.

However, if they do get relegated then there is a chance that Mooy leaves the club to stay in the Premier League, to showcase just how good he is. That said, here are three potential options for the 28-year-old midfielder.

#3 Leicester City

The Foxes have more than their fair share of midfielders, but the likes of Andy King, Adrien Silva, Hamza Choudhury, Daniel Amartey, Vicente Iborra, and even Matty James have all failed to impress so far. This has put most of the burden on James Maddison, Demarai Gray and Marc Albrighton and while they have managed to patch it up, it’s a temporary solution.

Bringing in Mooy however, allows Leicester City to add another attacking dimension from a midfielder and also ease the burden on Maddison and the other front three in the upcoming future. While the Australian’s attacking contributions will be welcomed, his defensive abilities will also be more than welcomed, as he helps protect the back four.

#2 Watford

Doucoure 1 1

While they did sign Will Hughes, Javi Garcia and his men could most definitely use another classy attacking/defensive midfielder in their team sheet- Especially given the fact that Etienne Capoue and Tom Cleverley are no way close to the players they once were and the fact that Abdoulaye Doucoure could be on the move next summer.

While Capoue and Cleverley can be replaced, there are a few players in the world cheap enough to replace Doucoure for the Hornets and Aaron Mooy is on that list. However, given the Huddersfield are going, Watford could manage to get a cut-rate price for the 28-year-old, but they will have to act fast.

#1 Southampton

If there is one thing Southampton need to revamp their season, it’s a creative attacking player to inject some hope and creativity back into their side. They look lost and while Ralph Hassenhuttl is doing the best he can, even the best managers need help with the January transfer window potentially playing a major role in that.

Bringing in Aaron Mooy will not only help them replace Steven Davis but also add another dimension to their midfield play. But that’s only if they decide to add to their already overflowing roster and if Mooy wants to join yet another club in the battle for relegation.
